Unity Special Funds: Responsible Giving
Memorial, Sanctuary, Building and General Fund Gifts to Unity
Gifts to Unity Evangelical Lutheran Church individual Funds can accomplish multiple goals.
They can celebrate a personal milestone, honor or commemorate a loved one or friend —
and further Unity's mission to be
an urban green space, welcoming everyone into a holy encounter where we are changed,
that all may be fed as Jesus feeds us.
Just as we have many ongoing initiatives for accomplishing our mission, there are
several different Funds that your gift can support:
Memorial Fund
Gifts to the Memorial Fund are typically made to commemorate a loved one or friend.
We appreciate un-designated or general memorial gifts that the Unity can best use for
the ongoing needs our ministry. If you have particular items or projects in mind to be
dedicated, please share you thoughts with Pastor Kinsey.
Sanctuary Fund
For nearly 100 years, Unity has opened its doors to the community for worship and
community space sharing to the glory of God. Our sanctuary, though beautiful, is aging,
and we seek to be good stewards of both ornament and structure. Presently we are
asking for donations for the renovation of our sanctuary and its painting, a project that
began with our entryway. The goal is $8,000. Donations to the Sanctuary Fund can
memorialize or honor a loved one or friend, or they can be stand-alone gifts that help
keep us viable today and ready to meet the future.
Unity Building Fund
The Unity Building Fund was established to build up principal that can be drawn from
during the year as unforeseen building repairs arise. We appreciate those gifts that
anticipate and prepare for the continued regular needs of our building. Donations to the
Unity Building Fund can memorialize or honor a loved one or friend, or they can be
stand-alone gifts that help us to remain focused on our mission.
Unity General Fund
If you are a visitor or a guest and wish to make an offering to our General Fund, please
use an envelope found in the pew holder, and include your name and address. Your
donation will be recorded by the Financial Secretary, and a year-end statement can be
returned to you. Envelope boxes are also available upon request.
Notification to Families Upon receipt of any memorial gift, the Church Office sends the
donor a note of appreciation and acknowledgement for tax purposes. Upon request, the
Church Office will also share the names and addresses of all memorialized donors to a
designated family member or friend.
